What Do Amp-Hours (Ah) Mean on a Tool Battery?
Amp-hours measure capacity, not power. A higher-Ah pack runs longer at the same voltage and near-identical peak torque, and is physically larger and heavier.
Amp-hours (Ah) measure capacity — how long a battery runs — not power. A 2.0Ah and an 8.0Ah battery from the same platform deliver identical voltage and near-identical peak torque to the tool; the 8.0Ah pack just keeps delivering it for roughly 4x longer before it needs a recharge. Higher-Ah packs are also physically larger, heavier, and (with larger cells) tend to sustain heavy draw with less voltage sag — genuinely useful for saws and grinders, but not a 'more powerful' claim for light-duty driving.
