How We Evaluate
What we do
- We reproduce published specs as published. Voltage labels, torque figures and amp-hour ratings are the manufacturer's own numbers.
- We label every conversion. Nominal-voltage figures and in-lbs/ft-lbs conversions are arithmetic, and are marked as such.
- We give every product an honest watch-out. Every tool listed carries a stated drawback, including the ones we rate highly.
What we do not do
- We have not bench-tested any tool. No figure here is our own measurement.
- We do not call a manufacturer's label false. 20V MAX and 18V nominal are both real measurements of different conditions.
- We make no safety or injury-prevention claims. Follow the tool manual and use appropriate protective equipment.
